Change memory?

  • Do you understand german in reading? -> GoPal-Wiki: Interner Speicher, Aufbau_und_Funktionsweise -> 2. Probleme und Lösungsansätze

  • Pffffffffffffff 8)

    After reading all this I think I will.

    I will give it a trie

  • :D Keep cool, you only have to read (and understand) this part: 3. bei V5: Folgende Änderungen... ;D

  • If I understand everything well, I have to do the underneath:

    With the above program: "Freeware ResInfo von WR-Tools (Infos und Download, Du benötigtst die ResInfo.ARM.300.CAB" (Where can I find this program/) I can change the memory ...........

    Am I correct or do I miss something?

  • :wand :wand

    I already had installed this program ...... see the above printscreens in my first post

  • I did the underneath:

    bei V5: Folgende Änderungen sind in der Datei 'k10memory.lua' vorzunehmen; die Definitionen dort lauten im Original:
    local OBJECTSTORE_MAXSIZE = 3*1024*1024;
    local OBJECTSTORE_FREESIZE = 768*1024;

    Sollen nun zusätzl. 500KB an ObjectStore reserviert werden, müssen diese Angaben wie folgt geändert werden:
    local OBJECTSTORE_MAXSIZE = 3*1024*1024;
    local OBJECTSTORE_FREESIZE = 268*1024;

    When I look, with the program WR-tools, I now see the underneath details:

    [Blockierte Grafik: http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb131/brucetheboss/4.jpg]

    [Blockierte Grafik: http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb131/brucetheboss/5.jpg]

    But I hardly see any difference.

    They only thing I would like to do is to install the underneath fonts into the directory windows/fonts

    arial.ttf
    arialbd.ttf
    arialk.ttf
    tahoma.ttf
    tahomabd.ttf

    What am I doing wrong?

  • That can't be the truth! :-D)
    You've increased the StM by 500KB (768 - 268 ), but the difference shown above is only 140KB! You may have been copied sth. to the StM to lower your settings.

    You have to know every file you are copying into the RAM, will be compressed, they don't need the size actually shown in the explorer.

    I just did a test: my free part was 105KB and I deleted the three arial*.* files in \windows. The new capacity shown after this action was 574KB (difference 469KB). But the real size of these files are 548KB.

    So, lower your OBJECTSTORE_FREESIZE to e.g. 100KB and copy your files to \Windows. Then check your free-amount and increase it to a usefull number, ~100KB free memory should be enough.

    Important: you have to do a softreset! And after a hardreset all your extra files will be deleted! ;D So, think of organizing a backup for this case!

    Another tipp: copy your files while you are in the cleanup menu, otherwise you'll get an error. The compressed size will be calculated after the copy event!

  • Just an idea that might help too: let the space additionally needed by user be computed
    automatically and then system be adjusted accordingly to the given result.

    Here's a crude hack of a Mortscript routine that will do this for you

    Prerequisites: the external SetSystemMemoryDivisionKB.exe is needed (see appendix)

    The above is clear for me and I will give it a try.

    Do you mean that with the program: SetSystemMemoryDivisionKB.zip

    This program will do everything for me?

    So far I see it now you are not familiar with Mortscript, i.e. programming your
    device. Therefore you might forget my idea.

    Succeed with

  • Okay, it's looking better now.

    I have changed the freesize into: local OBJECTSTORE_FREESIZE = 100*1024;

    I did a softreset, copied the files into the windows/fonts directory and its working :P

    But now the part for which you already warned me:

    Zitat

    Important: you have to do a softreset! And after a hardreset all your extra files will be deleted! So, think of organizing a backup for this case!

    After a hard reset the files are cone :evil:

    How do I fix that because I have to close the system of course ........

    I'm sure you can explain that to me ......... :gap

    Registry von 'Hand' sichern: Dies geht z.B. mit dem Datei-Explorer Total Commander Version 2.5 Beta 3 (Download Download, Infos, Freeware). Nach dem Start des Total Commander klickst Du im Hauptverzeichnis auf den Ordner '\\Plugins', wählst dort 'registry' und markierst nun jeden der 3 Registry-Zweige. Anschließend klickst Du im Menü auf 'kopieren/verschieben', wählst das Verzeichnis, in das gesichert werden soll - et voilà. Dieser Vorgang dauert allerdings recht lange - reicht für eine Kaffepause (keine Sorge, der PNA ist nicht abgestürzt). Das Zurückspielen der Registry geht genauso einfach (nur viiiiiiel schneller): gesicherte Registry-Dateien auswählen, kopieren in das Verzeichnis '\\Plugins\registry' und fertig. Damit die Registry richtig läuft, braucht es jetzt noch einen Softreset. Die zweite Möglichkeit, die Registry zu sichern, funktioniert mit Hilfe des Mini-Programms 'Savereg'. Savereg tut seinen Dienst aber nur, wenn es aus einem Mortscript aufgerufen wird. Hier musst Du schon ein bisschen mehr Hand anlegen und wissen, was Du tust. Für weitere Infos zu Savereg und Mortscript bitte hier im Forum suchen.

    Is this the way it should work?

    I make a copy of the register and every time I did a hard reset I have to copy back the register ....... ?(

    Is this the way it should work? Isn't there a way that after a hard reset the files are still in \windows\fonts?

  • Well done so far! :tup

    Why do you want to copy the registry? ?(

    You'd have to copy your files from e.g. "\StorageCard\Backup" back to your location, perhaps via a MortScript like this -> MN 6.5 auf Medion P4410 (Info-Box-Darstellung) It's explained further down in that thread.
