Hello,
how to repack a SFS file ?
Thanks for your help !
Why??? You don't need to repack the unpacked files- use the new CESFS.dll and it works ...
I can't.
My GPS device accept only sfs file (example : english_sound.sfs).
With your 'sfs_unpack.exe', I extract all sound files. So, I can modify every sounds.
But when I will finish, I will must recreate the 'english_sound.sfs' with new files inside.
So, my question is : how to create a SFS file ?
Thanks.

Sorry, no idea how to "repack" the Files into a sfs-file.
But i don't understand the problem: You use the MN4 - right?
And the MN4 use (imho) the original dll to unpack the Sound-Files "on the fly" for the Navi.
So, if you use the "new" dll instead of the original dll, you don't need to "pack" the files again because the new dll is the new interface between the MN4 and the Sound-Files.
Where's the problem or why does your Navi accepts only sfs-files? (i think you mean your Navi-System when you write "GPS Device").
Please tell us more, thanx
Hi,
My device is a Mio 268 and the software is Mobile Navigator 4.2.
But the software (a cab file in a SD card) is downloaded at the first boot sequence into the Rom memory of the device. So this package must be like the original (same name, same king of package).
If i want to modify the sounds into my sfs file, i must to recreate the sfs file after the changes I mad.
I think the man who is the developper of 'sfs_unpack.exe' can create a 'sfs_pack.exe'.
Another problem : when I run 'sfs_unpack.exe', I don't have a new DLL file.
Bye.
Hello,
with sfs_unpack.exe you can ONLY unpack the SFS-Files on your PC.
for example with:
sfs_unpack.exe -o\unpacked\ german_sound.sfs
you unpack the packed Soundfile german_sound.sfs into an new subdirectory with the name "unpacked"
After unpacking you can modify, change the files - but you can't repack the *.ogg-Files into an new SFS-File.
So you must use the new dll - look in the first posting here in this thread, there you can find the new dll in a zipped file. You must create a file named sfs_config.txt (use the sample in the zip-file and change the paths).
Your wrote: "...the software (a cab file in a SD card) is downloaded at the first boot sequence into the Rom memory of the device..." - is this right? Do you mean that at first use of the Mio268 the Software is installed into the RAM of your Mio 268? I have never seen a Mio268 "live" - sorry about my question..
Can you modify or rename the installed files? If not - i don't see any way to use this tool on your Mio 268.
If you can change/modify files in the Install-Directory on your Mio (not on the SD-Card, on your Device!), you can rename the old dll, copy the new dll from the zip into your directory, create the config-file and copy the *.ogg-Files into the Install-Directory (better into a sub-directory).
And then it should work ... (or not :gap )
Hello,
I'm going to create a software to repack sfs file.
I think it's the better solution because I can't access to the memory.
Thanks for all.

Hello Striker12,
First of all: Good Luck ...
I hope, you post the software when you are ready - it seems to me very interesting ...
Yes of course !
:coolgr
Hier meine Datei:
Maps=NeueSounds
IniFailuresAreFatal=1
[NeueSounds]
*.ogg=\neuesounds\
Danke
