Change memory?

  • OK, maybe you got several versions of MS on your PNA.

Try this attachment. But I have only written the code for 3 *.ttf's. I didn't change your syntax, it was OK for the first 3 commands! But the last both entries were wrong! ;D

The last step is up to you! ;D

EDIT: attached *.mscr-file was corrected and changed. Thanks for your hint, jwoegerbauer ;)

Please allow this additional remark concerning Windows CE fonts you might find useful:

Windows CE uses a default set of fonts that exist in ROM. You can replace these fonts
by modifying the Windows CE registry.

    Note:
The replacement font must exist in the \Windows directory on the target device,
    not in \Windows\Fonts directory.

The following table shows the locations of the fonts that you can replace through the
    Windows CE registry.

    Font location Registry key

    System HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\SysFnt
    Menu bar HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\BarFnt
    Pop-up menu HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\PopFnt
    Out of Memory window HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\OOMFnt

It would be madness to disturb your efforts in guiding billy01. Hence I assure not to have
this intention. You surely brings to a happy end what you began.

No problem, I hope we've reached the end of the tunnel pretty soon! :D

If it allready runs on your PNA, it's ok. Otherwise you have to start MortScript.exe.

... to register the suffix *.mscr!
    Keep focused! :-D)

  • Hi Ralf,

I used your files but I again received the underneath message:

    [Blockierte Grafik: http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb131/brucetheboss/message.jpg]

    jwoegerbauer

    I will try your option.

So now I have to make some changes in the register?
I found the register but I only have 3 options:
HKCR / HKCU and HKLM but not the option HKEY

By the way ..... shouldn't I do this with "regedit" like you have on any computer?

The above I fount in the directory : \\plugins

  • What happens if you start the RestoreFonts.exe?

  • I can't believe it! ?( Try it with testing out on other pathes just beneath \MFD or \SD. I'd tested it several times on my PNA and it worked well.

  • I placed the restorefonts files on other place (sd and MFD) and then the *.exe file works (I receive the message as before but I don't receive a message when the files placed in the directory \mortscript)

  • Don't get confused!!! To solve your current problem ( adding fonts ) you not have to change the registry.
I only showed you the possibilty to replace the inbuilt sytem-fonts if there is a need to do so.

BTW, HKCR, HKCU and HKLM are abbreviations, not the real key names.

    Have a nice day ...

    EDIT:

Is this really what you want to be done - you are simultaneously renaming files?

    copy ( "\Storage Card\Fonts\arial.ttf", "\Windows\fonts\arial.ttf" )
    Copy ( "\Storage Card\Fonts\arialbd.ttf", "\Windows\fonts\arialk.ttf" )
    Copy ( "\Storage Card\Fonts\arialk.ttf", "\Windows\fonts\arialbd.ttf" )

  • Thanks for your info.

The problem is that I don't understand how you get in your register.

Is that a special program or is there another way to do it?

  • Hi @Panik

I did what you recommended (resorefonts.exe and after that restorefonts.mscr) but I get again the message that there is no application associated ...........

The strange thing is that when I place the two files in another directory and then double click on restorefonts.exe I get the above message but when I place the files in the mortscript directory I don't get a message ......... ?

    3.4.Binaries
Copy the contained files from the archive's subdirectory of bin that's named after the desired device type (e.g. bin/PPC) to any place on the device (e.g. to \Program files\MortScript).
Then run MortScript.exe there, so the required registry entries will be created (for the assignments to the script extensions .mscr and .mortrun).

    a little workaraund:

    create a link "msreg.lnk" in "\Windows\StartUp".
    with
    "\My Flash Disk\programme\Mortscript\Mortscript.exe" "\My Flash Disk\programme\Mortscript\MSREG.mscr"

    create the file
    "\My Flash Disk\programme\Mortscript\MSREG.mscr"
    with
    Run ("\My Flash Disk\programme\Mortscript\MortScript.exe")
    Sleep( 400 )
    SendOK("MortScript")
