Schlechtes Unterstützung

  • Hallo,

    Was ist Ihre Meinung?

    Grüße von Belgien

    Eddy

  • Hi Eddi

  • Hi,

Since not a lot of people would understand Dutch, I'll write in English.

I have the latest version (7.08)

Here is list in order of importance:
    - 8110 chooses small concrete roads (or better said, field roads with concrete where only 1 car can pass at one tome) as fastest road, which is certainly not correct. Navteq provides the necessary information (since drawn small and indicated as local road), thus the 8110 should interpret this correctly
    - on cross roads without traffic lights, the 8110 will give no instructions whether one needs to cross the road and considers the major road to cross as side-road. One needs to figure out oneself where to drive
    - If one indicates to avoid a traffic jam on a highway, the 8110 sends you off the highway in order to send you back on the highway via the same slip road. Whether or not the fact if this is legal, it has certainly no use and is a form of road rage.
    - lack of Dutch/Flemish TTS
    - the 8110 gives in certain cases instruction way too early (as if certain streets do not exist) with turning in the wrong road as result
    - if the house number isn't known in the database, the unit asks for the nearby road. This is rather useless if one doesn't know the environment and thus the nearby road is nearby the intendend destination
    - the unit doesn't calculated the optimal order of the stages of a route. One needs to figure out oneself the correct/optimal order.
    - if such a stage in a route doesn't correspond with the reality and stops earlier, the unit asks to drive to the initial stage in order to continue with the next stage. An option to skip a stage would be more than nice
    - the retrieval of temporary saved routes are difficult to find back and it's much easier to start all over
    - there is no indication of the colours used on the map. A perfect example are the black and red arrows on a road with traffic jams. The are rather useless anyway since they only show up when you've passed them. The indication of the calculated road overrides these arrows.
    - highways are indicated in blue which I should expect from water roads
    - refuge are mostly interpreted as roundabout and the unit gives extra useless instructions
    - when a route is calculated, the unit seems to ignore the already available TMC info. It is only after a while that the unit starts the recalculate the route whereas a better route could be calculated at the start
    - the lane assistent gets sometimes confused on complicate situations and shows more lanes than there are in reality
    - switch between night and day modus and vice versa happens too late
    - geo coordinates are in a reverse and unusual DMS format. The usual DDD MM.MMM format is handier.
Furthermore, there is no input possible of these coordinates
    - the lane assistant says in Belgium to keep left at a lot of exits. This when there is no doubt on the way to go. I would expect only an instruction at difficult places and interchanges.
    - it says in Belgium that a highway exit on the right side should be taken on places where there is only one exit. On top there aren't that many highway exits on the left hand side.
    - when a destination ends in a cul-de-sac, the 8110 says that there is only limited traffic possible. There is no reason to tell this when the destination is reachable
    - lane assistent gives German names for non German cities in Belgium, eg Brüssel
    - the time span of a traffic jam in Germany is wrongly translated as "Vertraging: 10 notulen" and needs to "Vertraging: 10 minuten"
    - The 8110 says that a tow cable is mandatory in Belgium, which is false
    - It doesn't indicate the advisable speed on highways in Germany
    - It says that lights are should be on in Austria, which isn't the case anymore
    - there is no indication of a mandatory vignette in Switzerland and Austria
    - the same counts for the Umweltzones in Germany. Futhermore there is no option to ignore them (liek toll roads)
    - the calculated time of the shortest way is sometimes less than the fastest road, which is rather strange.
    - the mapreporter on the de Navigon site doesn't provide the same functionality (tracking numbers, etc) as the Navteq site
    - wrong/incomplete translations in the Dutch manual

Zumindest Letzteres kommt oft so rüber.

  • Hallo Zero,

hab' verstanden.

    Darauf : drink

    Was ist Ihre Meinung?

    @Naviblack24
