Atmos VDO-Pn6000 EXtended Menu (Beta release )

i think the orginal vdo menü is insert vdo navi automatic ?

Yes, but if you rename the "navigation" folder (and then Off-On) , VDO original software arriba.ce (and not spike.exe that's the VDO original launch software) use 4486kb of memory and not about 10.000kb but you can't use the original navigation software ...

    ram%20and%20cpu%20lost%20power%20for%20another%20apps%20(IG08%20ect.)%20=%20slowdowns%20?

I think not, with tt7 actived and "navigation" folder renamed (the VDO maps) , free ram is 80,0 mb!

I think that's a problem with some version or setup of IGo, or some issue with TMC, try this sys.text

shit you have not an cradle. tmc check...btw atomos write this to christmas list :)

I think that the cradle is not for me but if someone has one with a good price let me know :gap

If you can save your icons in .ico files it's better.. ;D

    Multimedia :
    MLconf modificare non funziona

Igo 8 funziona bene ma Perdere il segnale GPS (Penso che problema di porta ).Con GSfinger no perde il segnale
alcuni sviluppato e tutto sarà perfetto.
    Ciao
    Hallo
Atmos und danke Ihnen für dieses Menü.
Hier ist, was tut mir keine
    System: Löschen funktioniert nicht
    Registry funktioniert nicht
    Application:
    PWord nicht funktioniert
    Total Commander funktioniert nicht
    Multimedia:

  • @atmos: Which version of Igo8 do you have in use? My Igo8 loses GPS every 30-60 seconds.

Do you think it is possible to start Igo8 with the original VDO menu (instead of the VDO navigation software)? That would probably the best solution for me.

    Thanks,
    dreamy1

  • Manduria in your system mortscript doesn't run...

With the original vdoservice.nfrun you must use the button "delete registry" first, then "Registry" button and then Off-ON

Multimedia player it's normal because I do not put in package a software. :gap

@ all = if you have problems with GPS signal in Igo8 try to change the initial setting of Portsplitter (with his button) changing port speed or use another com port

For example: Port splitter button>>>stop splitter>>>Baud 9600>>> start splitter

Than launch IGO8 and set GPs port 2 and 9600 baud.
    Let me know

    Try this:

    Port splitter button>>>stop splitter>>>Baud 9600>>> start splitter

Then launch IGO8 and set GPs port 2 and 9600 baud.

Or try to disconnect the tmc cradle..

    Let me know

No I think it's impossible, but your problem is the GPs port not the original vdo software ...

  • I set the GPS Port settings to 9600 baud as you described (com1 and com5 output). Now i started Igo8 but it still find the com5 at 57600 baud...:-(

  • Hello Atmos.

I really look forward to use your Extended Menu. Can you please tell me where I can download your software?

  • Hallo

After repeated install all works except igo8 which is not even gps changing values. Then I made a reset and GPS PORT dimmed and became impossible to change values and it detects the gps but often loses

  • Ok.

Perhaps there is some incompatibility between portsplitter and IGO, let me check.

I also used other splitting port programs but there are other problems ...

    @ Whizzy: I'll publish a "beta 2" version soon

  • Buona Sera!

Thank you very much. I assume it wil function on a PN4000 as well.

  • @atmos:

Do you think the following would be possible: putting the Portsplitter in the Win CE autostart folder...so one com port would be free to use with other software and the splitter is starting with power-on. Then instead e.g. of the pictureviewer.exe we could use igo.exe (via renaming and putting the files in the same folder). So igo8 should start when the viewer button is pressed. Do you think that will work? Or ist there something to register before? Or do we have to expect problems with terminating igo8?

    Thanks,
    dreamy1

    1) Windows in PN6000 is "restored" whenever the device turn OFF and ON, and autostart way I think doens't work

    2) this is the problem with other port splitting programs like virtcom that use a .dll in windows folder (but I'm working on it)

    3) I don't see a problem to use the "vdoservice" procedure, it's the simplest and less invasive way to use other applications

    4) the true value of a system like my extended menu is that we can use other applications as a pda, use only dvb-t and Igo for me it's reductive

    5) if you want only IGO8 and the vdo original menu (without the original navigation software) it's simple, if you want i tell you how, but for me is however reductive

This is a beta version, we must try to understand what does not work and try to solve it. ;)

Use port splitter button, stop splitter, now set IGO8 with gps port 0 and check if GPS still disconnect and riconnect.

With this we'll understand if the problem is port splitter or not.

  • Hello atmos,

    thanks for answering!

I would really appreciate if you can tell me the way for running igo8 in the original menu - please let me know how to do this (thanks!).

About the port splitter i will have a look tomorrow. I am not sure what the problem is - i have tested several Igo8 versions and the problem is still the same (even with lower baud settings). I figured out additionaly that the automatic brightness control does not work right if igo8 is in 3D-mode, it takes minutes until the correct brightness is adjusted (but Igo8 has nothing to do in this time), in 2D-Mode and in the menus the brightness is adjusting within seconds. Seems to be a problem with priority settings or...i don't know?

At this time, i want to say big thanks to you again - its really amazing what people are able to create.

    Thanks,
    dreamy1

  • ;)

I'll make an easy procedure to start IGo8 with the original menu.

But you should let me know if without port splitter your GPS problems with igo8 it's the same...

"Use port splitter button, stop splitter, exit from port splitter, now set IGO8 with gps port 0 and check if GPS still disconnects and reconnect."

    Cheers

  • Hi atmos,

when will you do a new upload?

The 10 times are fiished and I would like to install either.
