    sure, geocachers and nautic navigation uses the other format...
    all 3 variants would be the optimum :)

    OK, mea culpa....


    Habe gerade den "Beweis" antreten wollen und einen Test gemacht und... die Maus loggt tatsächlich die barometrische Höhe mit :-D)


    Hätte nicht gedacht, das ein GPS Logger nicht die GPS Höhe protokolliert.


    Fazit: die WGS-1000 loggt die barometrische Höhe mit und nicht die GPS Höhe!

    I think I found a bug in Firmware 1.0.2.A. When I delete a point in the G8-menu the WSG-1000 jumps automatically to the G6-menu where I can give in a new point by myself. I think when i delete a point I don't want to create automatically a new one. After deleting a point in the G8-menu the user should come back to the G7-menu.

    Ich glaube, dass ich einen Fehler in der Firmware 1.0.2.A gefunden habe. Wenn man im G8-Menü einen Punkt löscht, wird automatisch ins G6-Menü gesprungen, wo man einen neuen Punkt per Hand eingeben kann. Ich denke es wäre besser, wenn man nach dem Löschen eines Punktes zurück ins G7-Menü kommt.

    another bug in the new page C3. During an airplane flight (and maybe after restarting the device, I am not sure), it happened several times that I went to page C3 (the new one with UTM coordinates) and the device reproducably crashed (i.e., it was hanging, not responding any more to key presses, and on the screen at either UTM or TWD67TM2, there were strange characters, IIRC the turkish c,). I than had to remove the battery. Maybe this happens if the UTM information is not present in the correct format in the NMEA?

    noch ein Fehler in der neuen Seite C3. Während eines Fluges (und möglicherweise nach einem Neustart des Geräts, weiß es nicht mehr genau), stürzte das Gerät (also das WSG, nicht das Flugzeug) mehrfach ab, wenn ich auf Seite C3 ging (die neuen mit UTM-Koordinaten), und zwar antwortete es nicht mehr auf Tastendrücke, und auf dem Bildschirm unter UTM oder TWD67TM2 wurden komische Zeichen (soweit ich mich erinnere das türkische c,) angezeigt. Ich musste dann den Akku rausnehmen. Vielleicht passiert das, wenn im NMEA die UTM-Information nicht im korrekten Format vorliegt?

    Renaming Way Points on the WSG-1000

    Thank you very much for taking care of this German user community! I have a few wishes regarding the WSG-1000 firmware and would be glad if you could consider some of them in a future firmware update. Here is the first one:


    I'd like to rename way points in the WSG-1000. I know I can do so in TimeMachineX, but 'd like to give meaningful names to way points even when the device is not connected to a computer. I'm aware this can't be very comfortable with only 3 buttons on the device, but I would not mind to browse through the alphabet with the up and down keys.

    I support this,


    I think many more people would use the WSG 1000 for Geocaching if it was possible to use the DDD MM.MMM format.


    Searching Multicaches you find new coordinates while you are already on your trip. This you have to manually calculate another format and then put it in.


    Just think about this because of economic reasons. Just have a look at http://www.geocaching.com/ to get an idea how many people are using GPS for this application.


    One other thing that will make putting in waypoints much more comfortable.:
    Would it be possible not to start with coordinates 0.0000 while manual input but to see the current position? It also would be very nice to have the oportunity to edit the current input by starting at the first digit again.
    Otherwse you have to put in all from the start again if you make a mistake.

    I´m new in geo-caching and last week I bought the wsg-1000. It´s a really great device. But also for me it would be very helpful to have the coords in the DD° MM.MMMM format.
    AL, maybe you can give a firmware-version to us, which is optimized for us geo-cachers ?? I think you will have many fans for this :)

    Automatic Way Point Navigation on the WSG-1000

    Here is one more of my suggestions for the WSG-1000. I'd love it if the WSG-1000 would automatically switch to the next way point when a way point has been reached. That would allow to define a track by a sequence of way points, and to follow this track without the need to select the next way point manually.
