Dear Al,
thank you very much for having so much patience with a GPS beginner

About the GPS altitude issue, I now suspect that maybe the VDOP was too high. I will carefully observe this in the future.
About the SV in the hotel room: I wasn't aware of the difference between tracking and aquisition sensitivity, now I understand, thanks alot.
About the additional configuration pages, I also think that it may overburden the average user. One could solve this by providing an "expert mode" and a "simple mode". Simple mode is the default, without too much technical detail. If you switch on the expert mode (for example in Setting mode), you see all the detailed settings (which probably also do not need to be translated, if that saves space for the firmware...)

I know there are some people like config GPS parameters by u-center. So I provide a config file for you. When you change some parameters and find out some abnormal situation. You could use this file for back to default setting of WSG-1000.
Great
Best regards, Jan

About "expert mode" and "simple mode" is good idea.
But that is very very big engineering for us, If I do you suggest in WSG-1000. I this that need 2~3 month, then my other project will delay and my boss will kill me.
But in next new product I will consider this issue.ZitatAlles anzeigenOriginal von Mister GPS
Hi Al,
let me sum up the facts about the T+P problem. At the moment we have 4 Users who tested with v1.0.0.4 or 1.0.1.0 the T+P feature and all have the same problem. Nobody can see the T+P columns without changing the tk2-file with a Hex-Editor. By every user stands in the tk2-file "00 00 80 3F" and not "00 00 00 40". karomue tested his 2 devices and has by both the mistake.
I tested with v1.0.0.4 and 1.0.1.0. When I changed the tk2-file which was created with v1.0.1.0 I see the T+P columns, but in the whole T-column stands "-10" and in the whole P-column stands "589". When I change the tk2-file which was created with v1.0.0.4 I see the 2 columns too, but the values of T+P are correct.
Up to this problem the v1.0.0.4 runs fine and I enjoy logging with the WSG-1000.I have still one question, is there the possibility to save the temperature and pressure into another file than the tk-files. I viewed the gpx-standard but didn't find the possibility for the temperature. Maybe it will be possible to save it into a csv-file or txt-file?
I got it.
That is a bug in C++ library.
I will fix it and release it.About convert file...
Could you tell me how to add T and P data in GPX file?
That will be best if you could give me a example! -
Hi Al,
I found something in the GPX 1.1 Schema Documentation it's called "extensions type" this allows to add another schema into the gpx-schema. Here is an extension-example there you can see an entry called "TrackPointExtension" where the temperature is saved. I also found the xsd-schema file for this.
This example in the box at the bottom of the page shows a gpx-file were extensions were used. It starts with <extensions> and the additional data stands in <gpxx: ...>.
I hope this is a help for you.Regards

Dear Al,
I tested the new version 2.7.1 and I noticed no mistakes. When I read out the log from the wsg-1000 now i see the temperature and pressure in the track-editor. The Export of T+P to the gpx-file also works fine.THANK YOU!

Hello,
i've since tree days my WSG 1000 and i'm missing a small, in my optinion important, funtion: editing of POIs (coordinate / description / icon).
To edit an POI i have to select, edit, add and delete the old one...this is not easy when you have > 30 in the list

And it is possible to add folders?? I've added some cities and villiages and some other places and it's unclear up now..i've "only" about 20 POIs in list.
When i have all POIs in i need there will be over 100...An folder function would be very helpful. For folders like "Cities", "Villiages", "Mountains", "Inns" and so on...

Regards
Paul

GTA bewertet übrigens was in <ele> steht als Höhe.
@eT=eT:

Translation by Jan:
I also would suggest that the should should be able to choose whether the barometric or the GPS altitude is used for conversion to, e.g., gpx, since for example in an airplane the barometric altitude has no meaning for the flight altitude.
--------------------
My wish would be that no information gets lost, i.e., that you can extract from the tracklog both the GPS altitude as well as the pressure/the barometric altitude (one can calculate one from the other). My preference would be pressure+GPS altitude, then in the PC software (TimeMachineX, for example) one has all possibilities for postprocessing (including automatic calibration of the barometric altitude, as possible in the Garmin devices, but as postprocessing). Or even better as an option to choose between the two altitude sources in the settings. This is what I had in mind with the third picture in my recent post.Jan
