    No Problem:
Its an other TK2, but it is with all TK2 the same (Mistake???).
Eliminate .txt, this Forum allow not ".tk2".

    I checked your tk2 file.
There are no T and P in this tk2 file.
And I check the log version, that still is version 1.0.

Could you test again for me.
    1.confirm firmware version is V1.0.0.4 or V1.0.1.0
    2.Delete log data in WSG-1000.
    3.logging data.
4.read log data by TMX 2.7.0
    5.check P and T

    Dear Al,
thanks for your explanation, but my problem was different. I had the impression that the GPS altitude was stuck at the altitude of the old fix (71m), although I had a 3D fix in a city at 240m. So it was not the usual noise in the GPS altitude, but it was either a problem of the GPS to find the altitude (although it stated 3D fix) or it was a problem at the way from the GPS chipset to the WSG firmware. On the other hand, the two positions were more than 300 km away, this might also be a reason.
The remark about the barometer was just a side note. A hot start then usually solves the problem...

I found a website discuss with GPS altitude issue.
    Please visit it for reference.

The last three days I also noticed another strange behaviour (which could also be caused by my lack of knowledge about the exact way GPS works): I turned it on inside a hotel room (yes, I know that inhouse GPS is a bad idea). No satellites were found. But when I came from outside, it saw many satellites, and could even get a fix when I held it at the right position, so I don't know why it didn't see the sats in the first place...

Let me simple to explain it. I hope you can understand.
We consider sensitivity of GPS for determine this GPS is good or not.
Normally, this sensitivity value is mean GPS ability to catch minimum signal strength in tracking. (i.e. Tracking sensitivity)
But there have other value of sensitivity is important. That is Acquisition sensitivity.
    Ex.
There is a satellite broadcast a signal.
The signal strength vary as follow..[unit : dBm]
    -170 -169 ..-150 -149 -148 -147 -146 -145 -144 -143..-140 -141..-157 -158 -159..
At same time there is a receiver monitoring this signal of SV.
The receiver got signal at -144 dBm (Acquisition sensitivity), then continue monitoring this signal until lost it at -158 dBm(Tracking sensitivity).

So, if you turned on GPS in hotel room. GPS have to got more strength for recognize sv (Signal strength have to big than -144 dBm for recognize).
If the WSG-1000 has get continue fix. Then you are into the building. The GPS also can continue tracking weak signal until strength low than -158dBm. That is tracking sensitivity.

Another point: Since you and Charly were talking about the file format and code extensions, there are three more ideas which I had. Two of these ideas are probably easy to implement and would help to become independent of a PC for configuring the WSG. The third idea would allow people to log only what they want, or to trade the number of logged track points against the number of logged data items. It would probably mean changing the data format, but it would give experts maximum flexibility. I have attached three images to show what I mean.
    Best regards,
    Jan

    Thanks for your image.
    I understand that.
In fact, I did made function as your image 1 and 2 in initial stage.
But many users think that too difficult to understand.
    So
Currently, I am worrying for we dont have more space for add more features.
We are try to reduce code size for add more function.
However, we will consider in next generation product.

Maybe there is some misconfiguration, I did a factory reset, but it seems that this does not reset all configuration items, many things remain in memory. Do you have a GPS settings file for u-center with recommended settings which I could upload?

I know there are some people like config GPS parameters by u-center. So I provide a config file for you. When you change some parameters and find out some abnormal situation. You could use this file for back to default setting of WSG-1000.

  • Aha!!!

    I test many. If I change in TK2 "80 3F" to "00 40" i can see T+P!

    1. (new) Update FW1004
    2. log deleted
    3. new log

    In TK2 is always "80 3F"

    Hardware-V = CX01-ABC-001, Log = 2.0, S/N W804000259, Produkt Code CX01-ABC

Is it an Receiver-Mistake? Can it be?

I have an 2. Receiver, I test it with FW1004 and come later ... (afternoon/evening).

Remember: I hope, you understand my bad englisch. :)

  • Hello Al.

I have one of the first Receiver for Test.

Update 1001, upload 1010 from Ich

    http://www.wintec.com.tw/en/support_detail.php?cate_id=11&support_id=70#

    not works.

    --> CX01-ABC-001/May 13 2008/2.0, no S/N-Nr.

    In TK1 and 2 --> "80 3F", T+P not in TMX.

The FW1004 is from Yours Web-Site.

(I can not only be the alone User with this Problem..... ?( ?( ?( ?( )

    What can I/we do??

    Achtung, @all:

  • Hello,
I have exactly the same problem as karomue. I log with version 1.0.1.0. When I open the tk2-file in the report-window in the log editor I can't see T+P. I opened the tk2-file with a hex-editor and changed "00 00 80 3F" into "00 00 00 40". Now I can see T+P, but in the whole T (Deg.C) column stands "-10" and in the whole P (hPa) column stands 589.

    Hallo,

    Great Konfussion?????

By me it is oK aftert change 80F3 to 0040:

    @MisterGPS::

    Have you had an fix???

    D: Hattest Du einen fix?

Übrigens: ab Punkt 7 Höhe manuell kalibriert.

After Point 7 Heihgt manuell calibrated.

  • Yes I had a fix.

    Hans

  • IE. Ja, danke.

Werde mir also jetzt auch 1010 noch ziehen.....

  • Hallo Hans,

  • Hi Al,
let me sum up the facts about the T+P problem. At the moment we have 4 Users who tested with v1.0.0.4 or 1.0.1.0 the T+P feature and all have the same problem. Nobody can see the T+P columns without changing the tk2-file with a Hex-Editor. By every user stands in the tk2-file "00 00 80 3F" and not "00 00 00 40". karomue tested his 2 devices and has by both the mistake.
I tested with v1.0.0.4 and 1.0.1.0. When I changed the tk2-file which was created with v1.0.1.0 I see the T+P columns, but in the whole T-column stands "-10" and in the whole P-column stands "589". When I change the tk2-file which was created with v1.0.0.4 I see the 2 columns too, but the values of T+P are correct.
Up to this problem the v1.0.0.4 runs fine and I enjoy logging with the WSG-1000.

I have still one question, is there the possibility to save the temperature and pressure into another file than the tk-files. I viewed the gpx-standard but didn't find the possibility for the temperature. Maybe it will be possible to save it into a csv-file or txt-file?

    --deutsch--

The sreenshot below was made with v1.0.0.4
