Neues 4.40???

Sorry for writing English, but:

On the Dutch website www.mijntomtomgo.nl is a story about software update 4.40.

It looks like there is a new 4.40-update for the GO-software. Files have different sizes and the setup.apk has a date of sept 28th. Weeks later than the initial release.

This must be in response to all the complaints users had.

There is no confirmation from TomTom at this moment, but it looks like they did a silence-update.

...macht aber wenig sinn, die weiterentwicklung einer software mit der gleichen versionsnummer zu versehen, oder sehe ich das falsch?

mir ist auch noch nicht so ganz klar, was die quelle dieser meldung ist.
interessant und komisch ist der größenunterschied aber allemal.

Manno das wäre zu schön.....ich warte sehnsüchtig auf ein Update der 4.40 Version.....Ich würde so gerne die POI's benutzen.....aber was nützen mir POI's , wenn ich keinen Satellitten habe.....;-((

your posting sounds interesting. So what update did you you install on your GO ? Do you know anyone, who tried both updates ?

Are there any differences in performance ? Maybe the complaints of several users were caused by one of the two versions, which was incorrectly.

My GO also had several Problems concerning the GPS-Signal, but i tried to improve the problem by learning the GO on the roof, as friends like "Navili" already posted.

It now seems that TomTom only added a USB-driver for Windows 98. TomTom gives this driver as the reason the files have been changed. And thats a pity, because we all wanted a beter 4.40! Did we not?

You´re absolutely right, everyone over here is waiting for the next update in order to improve the GPS Signal. The features of the update are very good anyway, but the mistakes in it are even worse...

Hallo, die Änderung an der Version ist wirklich nur der USB-Treiber für Win98. Hatt mal an den Support geschrieben, daß laut FAQ zwar ein 98er Treiber im 4.40er Update sein sollte, hab den aber nirgends gefunden. War auch keiner drin. Die haben dann zurückgeschrieben, daß ich das neue Update runterladen soll, da war er dann dabei. Hab auch die 4.40er Version mal neu aufgespielt, aber keine Änderungen feststellen können. Will mich bei Regensburg Nord immer noch in den Straßengraben schicken und bei IKEA die Einbahnstraße hochfahren lassen...
