I installed GpsRds to disconnect temporarely the TMC function of my Gns GPS, this to make it compatible with my laptop-routeplanner from Falk.
Whenever I run the GpsRds.exe, it give the remark, no GPS is connected to the Com1. Is this something I have to change in the program itself? can I change this on my Asus MypalBT20? Sorry my German is too worse to try....

HI,
I think the best one is to give me some feedback about the GPS reciever.
Which one you have. The next is you wnat to install this GPS on your Laptop or on your PDA, while this is for me not clear at the moment.
When you run it on the ASUS then I am not 100% shure but I think this one has no real seriell port. You need a driver to setup the USB port to a seriell port for the gps software on your PDA.

Thank you for your reply,
The receiver i have is the GNS-MGPS from gns, A bluetooth GPS with TMC. |Don't know the numer that is on it is usefull for you to know?
I use a simple program on my laptop, and that is working ( it recognises the info from the receiver and it gives my position).
On the PDA it works fine with the navigation software on my PDA. So there's nothing wrong with that.
Problem is that when I use the GPS receiver on my laptop (connection is acomplished) the Falk routeplanner the Falk software doesn.t work properly (doesn't give me the position/speed/direction etc).
One of the causes might be the TMC module on the receiver. This can temporarely be set off with the software from GNS Gps/Rds.exe, but this comes up with the messgae there's no GPS connected to the COM1 and I don't know how to change the GPS port to the one that is used by the PDA (obviously it is not com1??)As far as I understood this is the problem.

HI,
okay I understand your problem.
This tool is only written for the Com1 port and not for the bluetooth port.
But i think that is not the problem.
When you remove the TMC interface in the bluetooth reviever then you dont have this problem.
But the importand is that when I am right remember the TMC signal is not always on only the right software can activate this.
I am not shure which protocol need the Falk software from the reciever.
While the GNS deliver not all protocolls to the software. -

the GNS-MGPS was developed for Navigon. In order to use TMC and Bluetooth you will need to buy the mouse, the TMC-Module & the BT-Module (about 130 - 150 EUR each). The Li-Ion battery lasts only for about 3-4 hours.Navigon Shop:
