Email an Destinator

  • Und hier noch eine weiter Antwort:

  • Moin,

    "Hello,
In response to your email, Destinator version 1.8 is not ready for release. We do not have an exact date or very many details at this time however once more information does become available all registered users will receive and update via email.

If you have any other questions please feel free to contact us via email and we will gladly assist you.
    Thank you"

Aber wieder ohne konkreten Termin. ;( Dafür Update per Email - schaut gratis aus. 8o

    Hello,

In response to your email, 1.8.0 version has not been released yet.

We do not have an exact date or very many details at this time however once more information does become available all registered users will receive and update via email.

Was wollt Ihr mit Screenshots????
    Tobi

  • Tobi, was hast Du denn gegen screenshots des Mitbewerbers?

    New Release
Well having had a quick check, the news is mixed:

The new version is V1.8.0 (Big jump), the user interface (Menus) has been dressed up and I beleive actually works faster, the New POST CODE option is looking good.

When locating a place you no longer find the CITY and then STREET, you know enter part POST CODE, ie DL1 3 and then the street IF required, obviously i have not tried all postcodes, but a good batch from my address book, the only dissapointment I have from MY point of view.....Lisburn is still NOT covered too well, in fact it does NOT have the BT28 post code region.

The maps SEEM to have been updated, the version numbers are certainly different.

In GPS Status you have the ability to not only change the PORT and SPEED, but also select SIRF or NMEA, which I certainly never had in my release.

All in all its looking good, the big test will be tomorrow when I take it for a test drive :-), I did notice that they still SAY "Circle" instead of roundabout, I can live with that.

Oh yes a big PLUS for me, it reconised my 2Gb Tosh drive and Microdrive without any problems, I know it worked with them before but the installer NEVER worked with them, so I'm chuffed with that.

Anyway I'm beginning to waffle, so more tomorrow, if anyone wants any real in depth info then please email mail, only too happy to help.

    V1.8.0 Tested
Well well well, what a shock to the system, this Ver 1.8.0 is FANTASTIC!!!.

Gone is the silly voice that tells you to drive around the CIRCLE, beautiful english spoken voice tells you to proceed onto the ROUNDABOUT.

Gone has the voice telling which turning to take when you are on top of it an its too late to switch lanes, NOW she gives you 500yds notice of where you are going to turn and when, then again at 200yds to tell you what lane you have to be in.

I did 4 different journeys this morning, recording all actions, the routing was SPOT ON, same route on previous version took me all over the bloody place, this one was the exact route a local resident would of taken, it was totally accurate.

The first thing we noticed was the voice, to be honest you'd end up falling in love with it, lovely soft spoken english, Destinator no longer sets the volume to full - you now have control over that, with this new voice I only needed to set the volume to 50% and it was totally clear.

I am going to do some further testing with long journeys, but so far I am amazed, Destinator have really pulled their finger out this time, the product was actually a pleasure to use. My only real gripe is that some of the map data is still outdated, they need to concentrate a bit more on the maps, especially as NAVTECH have the new available data.

Marks out of 10 ?, I would give this version an 8, but I reserve the right to change my mind either way once I've done some more testing.

    Hi,
    Tobias

PS: Her mit den Screenshots :D ;)

  • Hi,
