New software for z201

    Dear friends
    I am danish guy who has bought the Becker z201, after trying navigon and garmin.
    My german is a bit limited, so I hope somebody would kindly be able to help me in english.
    I can understand that there is a new software update availble, but I am not 100% sure that I managed to update it. I have so far updated the new maps via content manager. I do not know if it was correct, but I manually map by map removed the old one and installed the new. I also deleted voices and languages I didnt need.
    But in the end of the 2 first possible downloads in the content manager (the software), there is stil a globe indicating that there is new software to be downloaded. The already installed and the new one are 32 mb. I am not able to either delete the software or to update it.
    When I check if the the gps has been updated, I dont think it has. F.ex. hasn't the zoom button changed and I still have to myself to choose automatically light settings. The main meny also dont display gps strength. And I dont get any tmc messages.
    Hope it makes any sense??
    Basically would I like to hear if there is anyway to check if the new software has been installed, and if not how to do it?...

    goto Settings -> System Settings -> Information.
    If it displays the Software Version 8.3.1.70118 (SR1) the update of the software was successful.


    With SR1, there is a sattelite in the "Select Destination" button of the main menu (where the background image shows south-western France). It will turn from gray to white if there is a gps signal.

    My software version is: 8.3.1.57289


    I guess it means that is hasn't been updated.
    I can see in the content manager thats there is a update (betriebssystem und navigationsoftware) availble, but it will not allow me to update it. When I select update all, it selects all the voices etc, but not the software and I cannot choose only to update the software. There is no way I can move the software to the action window?


    Any suggestions?

    And another thing...


    When I looked at the mybecker website a few days ago, I could find a telephone number to Becker support. When I look now it seems to have been removed? Dont Becker have any telephone support?

    Have you tried to deactivate your firewall or you may should set some proxy settings!?
    This could be the solution. Normally it should be very easy to update the system.

    Unfortunately didnt it help with deactivating the firewall. Regarding the proxy settings, in that area am I not "proff" enough. So if its not too complicated, I would appriciate any advice that I would take my further...

    Hmm... unfortunately it seems to be that I'm not able to help you from here. Have you also tried the installation from another computer? This could be very helpful. If it works... throw your computer away :P

    well it seems that I had some succes anyway. I managed to update to the new version. I tried to reinstall the backup I made earlier that somehow made it possible. I now am only missing to install "betriebssystem". Can anybody tell me if its importen? I will try on another computer, thank you for the idea "MrUndercover"

    To install "betriebssystem" is very important, because this is the update of the software to Version 8.3.1.70118 (SR1)

    Thank you for your help, when I check system info I have now installed the update.
    But I still have to recieve any tmc messages!! With my previous Garmin and Navigon navigator I didnt have any similar problems with recieving tmc signal.
    The Tmc signal should be alright, the tmc symbol is gray in the main menu, shifting frim time to time to red.
    Could it be because that I still is missing a update of the hardware?

    with which socket have you connected the antenna?


    The socket at the Z099 is only for headphones. Only the socket at the cradle is qualified for the TMC antenna and you should have connected the AC/DC adapter at the cradle at the same time.
