PSRF 100

  • Hei,

maybe a stupid newbie mistake, but I'm trying to fix it since several hours, no idea where the mistake might be.

I have a navilock 303p (with a sirf3 chipset), and it was working fine until I started playing around
I issued '$PSRF100,0,9600,8,1,0*0C' as in some example, not thinking about the fact that I was switching it to SIRF mode instead of NMEA. Issuing '$PSRF100,1,9600,8,1,0*0D' for switching it back does not work, the output still looks as if it is some binary data. the amount and frequency of data arriving still looks similar all the way as in the initial mode.

    any thoughts ?

    Thanks

    Hello as31415rin

Welcome in the forum of pocketnavigation
I don´t know what kind of program you used for "playing" with the sentence. Therefor I tell you a way with CruxView.

Please download the program from the emtac-homepage. After you start the program, there will be displayed a question like "Your receiver is in SiRF-modus. Would you like to switch them to NMEA". At this place you decide "Yes" and the receiver will be switch to NMEA.

  • thanks for the answer, i'll try it soon. currently the emtac server seems to be down or something, let's see whereelse I can get that program from.

i just used a terminal program for the serial port and calculated the checksum by a custom program. so almost as basic as it can get :)

: only found a winCE version of that program, is there also a 'normal windows' version ?

You can download CruxView from here, S3-BTGPS CD (.zip). :]

  • ok, thanks, works fine now. even though it would be nice to know what was the wrong, but hey, I guess I wont use SIRF mode that fast again anyway :)

    Hello,

my english is bad, I know it, sorry.

SiRF-Mode is not the Mode, that works with the most Progs, this is NMEA. Please remember this.
