4 plugins for Tomtom : Tripmaster v1.3b available

  • Hello,

Sorry for not speaking german, but my german lessons are too far...

I would like to tell you that I have made 4 plugins for Tomtom and that they are available for free here :

    http://www.webazar.org/tomtomrider/plugins.php?lang=uk

I am currently looking for someone who could help me to translate Tripmaster and Tripsetup to german.

Four softwares are currently available :

    - Tripmaster : provides Tripmaster-like functions and GPS tracking capabilities
    - Offroad Navigator : allows you to follow an itinerary without maps
    - ReverseItn : allows you to reverse an itinerary
    - NMEAlogger : allows you to record, as they are received by the Tomtom, the NMEA frames

For example, with these softwares, you can record a trip, in an itinerary file, even if you're off-road, then reverse it with ReverseItn and navigate back to your starting point with Offroad Navigator. Isn't life pretty ? ;)

They are provided for free, at your own risks (backup your Tomtom before installation), without any After-Free-Sales Support ;)

  • Thank you for providing these nice plugins. I've installed the NMEAlogger and ReverseItn plugins so far on my One with Firmware 6.12.

They work great. I think the "ReverseItn" is very helpful, because carrying out a reversal of a long itinerary by hand is a hard job :gap .

  • Hi there !

If you still need help for translation let me know - I'l do it.

One question to Offroad Navigator: Are you disabling static navigation in the GPS Module (no idea if TomTom even alows to do so) ?

    CDS

  • For the translation, it's done. Thanks to the 2 guys who helped me. It will available in v1.3

For Offroad Navigator, sorry but I don't understand your question. You still can use the navigation application at the same time than Offroad Navigator. I would have been very pleased if I could display the compass over a map, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be possible, with the SDK.

  • Hello !

'Static navigation' is a feature of the SIRF chipset to make map-based navigation easier.
What is does is to freeze to actual position reported (and so also speed and heigth) if the speed is below 1.2 m/s for three seconds. If the speed then exeeds 1.4m/s again it's back in normal operation.

The problem with this is that this feature makes the use for off-road navigation impossible when e.g. walking not too fast (1.2 m/s is 4.32 km/h) . I'm mainly addressing the use for Geocaching here where you naturaly are really slow in the target-area.

  • This bug will be fixed in the v1.3b version, that should be available around mid august.
Another bug, related to altitude remaining in meters when requested in feets will also be fixed.

Other discovered issues, like negative time after stop/start and bad management of the lack of GPS signal will be fixed later in August.

  • The version v1.3b of Tripmaster is available here :

    http://www.webazar.org/tomtomrider/plugins.php?lang=uk

    Fixes :

    - The distance display becomes mad when the distance was over 100 km or 100 miles,
    - The altitude is still displayed in meters, even when imperial units are chosen,
    - GPX tracks files can't be read with Google Earth, due to the lack of GPX header.

For GPX tracks files, you're strongly advised to set "File creation" option to "New", so that each GPX tracks file contains only one set of tracks. This will be fixed in a future version.

  • nee, das ist ja kompletter quatsch was ich da geschrieben habe.....

    deshalb text gelöscht X(
