NAVIGON MobileNavigator 5 info

  • I guess its very difficult for a german user, to write something about a product, he has special ideas of what it should be able to do compared with other products here in Germany.
If you have little german language you will see at once, that MN'5 is the car-navigating software with the highest hardware requirements -as better the CPU as better it goes. Below 400 MHZ Intel-CPU is possible, but often frustrating. As more RAM of free memory as better -don't try less than 30-35 MB.
As a reward you get the most speaking comments -always telling you at the right time, what to do next. You can create own skins in a more than big variation and you are even able to create new colors for nearly everything.

But what is it worth, if you cannot compare it? In Germany we compare it with TomTom and Destinator -but what do you have in America?

Therefore, an answer to your question is more than difficult.

  • Hi sammyold1,

maybe you know the OnCourse Navigator 4. This was the US version of MobileNavigator4. MN5 is just one more step ahead with newer maps. Basically both are the same: a professional navigation system. We handle it like a toy, but its none ;).

    Thanks in advance :D

MN5 (as we call it here) is a professional navigation tool that I personally like very well.

it is rather ressource intensive though (You'd better get a pda with a fast cpu and above average memory!).

I'm running it on an MDA Vario (aka QTEK 9100 with T-Mobile branding) with WM5.0 and it runs surprisingly well given its TI OMAP cpu...

    just my 2c :gap
