Ich leg mal wieder vor, vielleicht auch in Eurem Interesse ![]()

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
I like to compare different navigation devices. My favorite is TomTom and I will tell you the main reasons:
- Smooth scrolling display during navigation.
- Better colors choosen for more contrast during navigation.
- More information in display shown during navigation (arrival time and remaining miles), without switching to another screen and with a better color contrast.
- Route planner with "FROM" and "TO".
- Optimal route planned from the beginning, without any messages during navigation, that a better route has been found. I want to have the perfect route from beginning, without any interruptions. (Note: In simulation mode, there is a break, until a key is pressed!!)
All these things could be added/changed with a new nüvi firmware as well. Colors could be choosen by the user with some small changes in the firmware. Unfortunately, I mainly saw bugfixes in the past months. What is the reason for this? Won't there be new features implemented anymore?
I think you know the TomTom-Go-910, TomTom's new top model. This new navigation device shows e.g. the traffic signs for maximum allowed speeds on bigger roads. Probably, TomTom will make some of their new features also available for older TomTom devices.
What about Garmin and your nüvi? Will there only be new map-updates or will there also be new firmware-feature-updates?
I think, it's not in the interest of the customer, that Garmin develops only new devices and doesn't support customers of old devices with new features.
I've bought my nüvi 350 in the beginning of this year, but I'm a bit disappointed, as I miss the TomTom features, mentioned above. I thought, that Garmin has the best devices and therefore I didn't test everything enough in the shop. Also I thought that I will discover the special features (like route planning) first, when I'm at home. Unfortunately, there is NO ROUTE PLANNER available in the nüvi!
Beside this, I wonder which kind of CPU you did install in this device? Unfortunately, there is no information available about this. I didn't find anything about this in the internet. Is it a secret, that you don't want to show details about your devices?
I only hope, that you will implement further features in your current devices.
Thank you
