Travelpilot und Telefon

  • When on the phone, the navigation screen blanks. Is it possible to mute the radio, but keep the display with the navigation information visable?
I have a Ford Mondeo with the Travelpilot E1(EX).

By the way, I can read German, but it's to hard to write it. Sorry..

  • Hallo Rudy,

By the way, I can read English, but it's to hard to write it. Sorry... :D

    Sincerly

  • The additional adaptor might be the only way to go, just be advised that the connectors on the Ford Travelpilot EX are not ISO, so you need to get additional adaptors, or make up something yourself.

  • Hi, thanks for your response.
I do have a special made connector, so my car kit is using the radio speakers and it uses the mute connection of the system. My problem is that when the mute is activated, the display with the navigation informations blanks and all you see is TELEPHON.

  • Pierre's proposal is to use an interface that connects the phone audio between the radio and the speaker, so the radio output is muted (cut from the speaker) without any other operation of the Travelpilot affected. You'd need to disconnect the mute line from the Travelpilot also, obviously.
So the Travelpilot would still display the navigation info, and never telephone.

  • That is exactly what the Ford dealer did. So the mute should be disconnected. You're right.
    Vielen dank :P
