Mondeo DVD navi, TMC?

  • Hallo leute
I congratulate for this very interesting forum. I'm writing from Italy and unfortunately I don't speak german, so I'll use english and hope that You don't blame me for that.
My question, aiming to most experts, is referred to the TMC service. I'm a happy owner of a Mondeo automatik with DVD navi from couple of days but I can't be able to use TMC function yet. I made a scan and locate networks that give that service, then I stored in memory but al last no message/icons appear during navigation on the map. To be honest, I'm not sure about quality of tmc service here in Italy, but I traveled with Mercedes in the past and I remember it was seeming to working quite well, on that car...
I hope anybody could give me infos regarding what above...
p.s: last question...the AUX input is audio or video?
    Danke schon

  • I know 2 problems.
    1. The connection of the antennain the backsite of the radio has fallen down

    2. The connection of the antenna on the fifth door ist not connectet. (Corrosion)

I'll test the Density of TMC Station on Sep. first Week in Italy. (Garda See).

After the vacation I'll report here .

  • You confirm what I supposed: TMC has an antenna on its own...then my system isn't probably working at all...In addition tomorrow I'll be in Swiss (Aargau), so I'll be able to recognize if the trouble is in the radio or in the italian network...Anyway how could I get the rear of radio to check antenna connection? It seems impossible...About the antenna on the window...you wrote "fifth door" but you probably mean that thin line crossing the third window on the right side. I can see its connection cable there...

  • Hello
Only the workshop can remove the radio. Special tools are necessary.
It is right if they have a Mondeo Turnier, the location of antenna is in the right window in the back part of the car. I use a car with five doors. (Mondeo Fließheck)

  • Ok. In september, when workshops in Mailand will be open, I'll send the car (guarantee is still operating). The connection on the "antenna side" is ok (it's visible), but i don't know about the "radio side". Apart of this stuff, the navi system is very good, probably the "state of the art": DVD, touchscreen, 7 inches 16:9. I only hope the update DVD won't be too expensive. People of this forum says that Ford is near to send it to the market.
    Thanx
