PN4000

  • Hi all,

Sorry for the english but my German sux more :gap

I can buy a PN4000 for about 135,- new in a box but no TMC.
A craddle cost about 75,- (or less).

    - But do u really need that craddle for TMC, or can i use a different
brand miniUSB antenna ? Does a (for instance) TomTom TMC antenna work ?

    - The maps on the PN4000 are old i read, do i get a voucher for
a free update when i buy it ?

    - I tried a NAVIGON PNA. What i didn't like was the scrolling on the
screen when all options were on (TMC, Poi's etc) Is that the same
    on the PN4000 ?

Thanx for answering. Oh i forgot, u can reply in German, that i can read well :D

    Cheers : drink

    kind regards

  • Thanx Zorbas for your answer.

So i just need a good antenna for TMC.. not a special one ?

    And about the screen...

On navigation screen there is no 'lag' ? The arrow runs smoothly on the screen ?

    Tnx.. nice site btw...

  • good morning.

You don´t need a special antenna, the antenna delivered by VDO is OK.

    The screen has a ~1 second-"framerate"

    kind regards

  • Omg.. 1 second lag screen ?( thats even worse as Navman.

And what about ATMOS V2.3b & CLOSEDone V2.3b

So i can install TomTom or IGO 8 on it.. does TMC still work ?

  • Zitat

    Original von Rob-Ster
    Niemand ?(

Sorry, ich verwende "ATMOS V2.3b & CLOSEDone V2.3b" nicht und mein PN6000 ist noch immer beim Service :( .....

  • T'morrow i will receive a PN4000 with BT & TMC for about 139 euro.
Not new (1 year old) but for that price its okay ( i think ;) )

Then i will try to install ATMOS V2.3b & CLOSEDone V2.3b

with TomTom and Igo8. I'll let u know if it works :]

  • Hi Rob
PN4000 with BT & TMC for about 139 euro.

Thats a damnd good price. Hit it! ;D

    The BLuetooth-Microfon is not so good. Its very quiet and when you use it to close to the Craddle, it gives a lot of Turn-Backs ; Rückkopplung;

TMC does not work (still now) with other Software! :-D)

I tried the Atmos-Menu, but i coudnt get it realy to work.
So it runs the Original Software now at its best. I just changed the 2 Games-Apps into Work-Apps like TotalCommander and a Calculator. Also I changed the totally boring Backgrounds and Icons n Stuff. Oh, and the TV-Lock is gone since i put my Hands over the SW :gap

  • Hey, nice background :applaus (Good beer = Heineken : drink)

Well, i'm back to basic (again).

Igo8 does work fine, but got too many error's using
Bluetooth (phone) in combination with it.

TMC and the microphone works fine with the proper cable (MA3040, so not via the Cradle)

The only problem i find now is the sound via the car speakers.

Navigation speech cuts right after the first word.
And the bluetooth phone doesnt work via external speakers.

  • Heineken, thats true :rofl
    Thanks for the Flowers 8)

    I changed all of them.
    Wanna see more pics+info?

Well, I dont use the BT-Function, so I cant say anything about it.
    Also the CableMA3040.

I am going to make a AUX-IN-plug into my Coupe and connect it with the PN4000-Plug on the left side (When I got time!). Not ready yet :(

  • Hallo,
um MP3`s, Navigation oder TV über die Autolautsprecher zu hören nutze ich einen FM-Transmitter. Ich bin damit zufrieden.
    Schöne Ostern noch,
