becker 7934

    I hope you do not mind me writing english but I am an Australian living in sweden and do not know german.

    If anybody can help me it would be great.


    What I am trying to do is have a system that has all street level europe maps and use any Australia map sd card in it when I go back to Australia and be able to put speed camera in it also, maybe TMC also .
    Finger touchscreen also.


    I have been looking at becker 7934 but do not know if I can put other maps in from australia also has that system got a inbuilt antenna ,has it got 12 channels and does it pick up satelites ok. Can you put it in your top pocket.How long do the batterys last.
    I see there are new beckers out what are they like.
    I like the becker because you can use normal AA batterys.
    Do you think there is another system that might be better.

    i try to help, and I hope my english isn`t so bad...


    There are no australia maps released for the 7934 yet. I read that the map provider Navteq has covered australia, but for the 7934 you can`t get them...


    The 7934 has a inbuilt antenna and the sat fix is ok, a good finger touchscreen. But it has got no AA batterys ( that was the 7914 with older maps, slow prozessor....), the 7934 has got no TMC- the new 7916/7988 has got tmc


    I read there are australia card avalible for the TomTom 710/910 and you can by them extra for garmin- nüvi for example


    You can`t put other maps from another systems on the pnas. On some pdas you can put rastermaps ( sorry i don`t know the english word for it)


    Perhaps you should ask your question again in the beginner forum - because its for no special system ( it` for questions for all systems)

    if it doesnt have to be a Becker - you can take a look at the TomTom-HP. The new GO-models have the European-Maps installed and you can download a map for Australia as well.

    I am looking at the new transonic 7000t now with the new mn6 and Navteq have Australia maps now so looking good.
    Are there other systems that can run mn6 and use in Australia.
