W203 Audio 30 APS (4718) in an NO-CAN car??????

Hello.

My first message here on this forum, but i've been reading alot. Even if my german isin't the best.

My question is:
Can i get an W203 Audio 30 APS to work in my W202 C36 1995??
I know that the unit must have CAN to start by the key, but it works in 30 min and then turns off, when turned on the button.

I've noticed that the contacts (pins) for both tacometer and reverse signal is present on the unit, does it work witout CAN maybe?

The real question is, is there any way to come around the "prod" security???
Can i solve it by coding it for any other model???
I have access to StarDiagnos (work with MB).

Please someone, help.

It does not work without CAN. I suggest to look for another APS 30, main reason: Front of 203 - model is not DIN, means, its bigger (wider and higher than DIN and more rounded).

I've already got the unit (brand new), so i would like to use it somehow in my car.

The front of the unit isn't important, i intend only to use it as a navigation, mounted in the glovecompartment.

So what i really want to know is: Is any way to get this machine to work without CAN???

As written in previous posting: No, it does not work without CAN. You need an interface, for example this one: MEGA[can]2+ "BASIC" für Audio 10/20/30/APS.

I have never done it - but: Why you are in doubt if it's work? The interface is exactly developed for this kind of application.

Where can i get the interface??

You can buy it direct at Megacomm, part of www.megacomm.de is an Online-Shop. As far as I know they deliver to foreign countries. Look for someone who translates German pages for you and order.
