Hallo,
nach einem Jahr warten gibt es nun ein Update für den Pocket Navigator PDA/PC auf Version 4.01.
Leider gibt es für die PDA-Version kaum nennenswerte Verbesserungen.
Schmerzlich vermisse ich immer noch eine lfd. Übertragung der NMEA-Daten an ein angeschlossenes Notebook zur Weitergabe der GPS-Daten an einen Autopiloten.
Somit muß man dafür immer noch ein 2. GPS-System kaufen. Ein Abgleich der Routen/Wegpunkte zwischen PDA/PC ist nur manuell via Export/Import möglich, also keine lfd. Syncronisation.

With Pocket Navigator version 4.0 comes a major change in nomenclature: the desktop companion application is no longer called "Memory-Map Navigator," but simply "Pocket Navigator Desktop." In addition, this release introduces map merging, a track drawing tool. and a text tool for adding notes and comments to the maps.
The previous update, Pocket Navigator version 3.0.1, incorporated the following enhancements:
GeoPins. Drag files onto the map image to mark locations with GeoPins: special marks that serve as links to those files. GeoPins let you attach trip logs, websites, and images to specific map locations. They can be created on your desktop or on your PDA.
Install map portions instead of entire maps. Save memory and transfer time by sending only a portion of a map to your PDA, if you don't need the entire map area.
More flexible Navigation Windows. During Goto Navigation, there are now two separate windows available to give you data and a visual reference while you're underway. In addition to providing distance and bearing to your destination, Pocket Navigator now also tells you your VMG (Velocity Made Good) and your ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival).
Default mark/waypoint icon. If the red flag symbol was never your favorite, you can now select your preferred symbol from the 23 symbols provided. The symbol you choose will be used for all new marks/waypoints you create.
Scale In/Scale Out toolbar buttons for switching to different scales of map coverage.
Magellan GPS support for route/waypoint transfer. Send coordinates from GPS memory to Pocket Navigator, where they'll be displayed on the map.
Compatibility with high-update rate GPS units. Improved communication with GPS units that use very frequent position updates. With each second that passes, Pocket Navigator can re-plot your position.
