Omega -99 Philips Navi, help needed

  • - Is it so, that the Philips navi in Omega -99 is model "Clarin"? (There is a small monocrome dislpay intergrated in the dash board next to the left from the Philips car stereo).
    - How can I find out, which is the accurate model of that navi?
    - I'd like to change the operation language to English. Therefore I need the Operation CD, right? Do I get the CD
    a) from Philips
    b) from Opel dealer
    c) f.-ex. from VDO-Dayton?
    d) from some nice person who shares the CD at KaZaa... ;)

Unfortunately I live in Finland, where those navi systems are so rare that nobody (including the local Opel dealer) seems to know about it. X(

  • If the system is a CARiN 530, the SY-numbers (22SY581/582) can be found in the "Settings" -> "System information" screen.
The system-software-CD (the actual version number can be found at http://www.hxs.de/CARiN.htm ) is neccessary for language loading, it can be requested from http://www.vdodayton.com . Just tell them the SY-number and nothing about Opel.

  • Thank you for your advice. I found the following information:
    Serial number 581/75
    HW Number 010B
    SW Number 0200
    Prod. Date 98/43

So, there isn't exactly the SY-number you mentioned, but it might well be Carin 530. However, there's no software for Carin 530 at VDO-Daytons web site (only Carin 520 is supported). ..

  • 581/75 is the abbreviation for 22SY581/75, so it's definitively a CARiN 530 system.

The newest software version for this system is 2.9, it can be (at least in Germany) requested from the "Customer Help Desk":
    http://www.vdodayton.de -> Service

    Remember to only mention 22SY581
