What version of Carin do i have?

    I recently bought an Opel Omega MV6 with the CCRT700 radio/cd/phone and an Philips Carin navigation unit in Germany.


    Now i would like to firstly change the language spoken by Carin (Currently German ofcourse) to firstly Swedish, or if that isn't possible to English. I also would like to update the navigationsystem to the latest version of software.


    The problem is that when i contacted Opel here in Sweden, they had no idea whatsoever which version of Carin i have, which software update that could be used, or even if it is possible to change the language!!?


    I have tried to contact the Swedish support-centre for VDO-Dayton, but they claim that they have nothing to do with factory-installed systems!?


    So... i wonder if anyone on this forum have any ideas or suggestions for me what to do?

    you can buy by opel a software update for your sytem ,Version 2.3 Part No 17 30 972 but this is in german may they have it in different lanques


    for information i have 97 MV6 with factory built in navi sytem
