Hello Al, here I am again! Sorry, it took some time until all of our users read your previous reply, discussed it, and agreed for this following reply! We would like to summarize and place our wishes: 1. We think that in a (hopefully soon!) next version of TMX the GSA and GSV sentences, which are generated from the logged TK, should NOT be contained in any of the TMX output formats! Simply because they are artificial (=not logged), so there is no sense for any other application - why use artificial data? 2. We agree with you that status "A" in the RMC sentence is OK, no need for changes! 3. Status in the GGA sentence should be empty, we are happy that you agreed to fix that in the next version of TMX, thank you very much! 4. Yes, we would definitively, as you suggested, agree that any and all artificially generated data should be removed!! We don't think that any other users would complain, simply because the NMEA conventions are better met when TMX just converts data which have been logged! 5. NOBODY IN OUR USER GROUP WILL EVER CONVERT ANY FORMATS TO YOUR WINTEC PROPRIETARY TK FORMAT !! WE ARE ABSOLUTELY ONLY INTERESTED IN THE OTHER WAY (TK to OTHER) !! WE DEFINITIVELY RESPECT YOUR RIGHTS AND AGREE THAT TMX CAN ONLY BE USED WITH WINTEC APPLICATIONS !! 6. Until now only 2 of our users have programmed own small software to create some output from a TK1 or TK2 file. One is a conversion to the KML format, see the attached example! However, please be assured again that: - there will not be any commercial application - this is the work of a happy user and keen GPS freak ;>) !! - again: none of your supplied documents (data formats etc.) will be used for GPS receivers of other companies (see 5. above) !! - again: never will any formats be converted to your proprietary TK format !! 7. In the current version v2.6.1 of TMX the formats TK4 and TK5 are not yet in use, thus we can't give you feedback about that, sorry! The same goes for your new G-Tender, we did not yet have a closer look, BUT: MANY thanks for your confidence in sending us the user manual ! 8. We had suggested that the user should, if feasible, have the option to choose which NMEA sentences are logged by the WBT201. In your previous message you replied: "The first version of Time Machine X includes those functions. But I remove those. Because too many people not understand and sometimes make wrong setting lead to WBT201 no work." Probably there are some misunderstandings: In the earliest TMX V1.0R9 (this was the version which was supplied on the CD-R with the very first units sold in Europe) we cannot find this function! Maybe the "first version" which you mention was never available to the European market? Maybe again to define what we mean: - To select which NMEA sentences are logged by the WBT201! Would that be possible? Probably this would require a new firmware, and of course a new TMX version? We realize that with such selectable options the logger memory will be affected/reduced (if many options are selected). Al, if you could imagine that these options are possible, we think that this would be of great benefit for us! In case you could realize these suggestions, we suggest that all current options be kept, and for example you could in TMX include, within the Installer, a "License" where you say that "all direct programming of the logger" is "at own risk" - so every user does it on her/his own ! In addition, we again would like to offer software-testing: please do not hesitate to send us preliminary/test/beta-Versions, we would be very happy to help you with testing! Finally: We are very happy that you are planning a GPS-logger based on the u-blox5-Chip!! Would it be possible for us to contribute consumer's wishes? In our user group, some members are also using GPS loggers of other companies - you know, every application has pro's and con's. We would be really VERY interested to give our opinions and wishes to your WINTEC company, so that you could design a perfect product! Sorry for the whealth of inquiries, but I guess we can negotiate it! Sincerely, Chris
